Yashica Electro 35 GSN

Introduced in 1973, the Yashica Electro 35 GSN was one of the final generations of Yashica's celebrated Electro 35 rangefinder series. It combined a coupled rangefinder with aperture-priority automatic exposure, allowing the photographer to select the aperture while the camera's electronic metering system automatically determined the shutter speed. At its heart is the Color-Yashinon DX 45mm f/1.7 lens, a six-element design known for its fast maximum aperture and versatile normal perspective. The GSN also introduced a hot shoe while retaining the PC flash connection, making it a capable and practical 35mm camera for its era. With its solid construction, quiet leaf shutter and straightforward controls, the Electro 35 GSN remains a distinctive example of classic 1970s rangefinder design.
